Melanie has been shortlisted twice for her work in the 6th and 7th FIDA Awards against a pool of  talented artists. 

FIDA is the first global online platform to promote fashion illustration and drawing around the world, supported and partnered by some of the best brands and people in the fashion industry.

Melanie’s first piece shortlisted for the 6th awards, Beauty Category, was a work created as a homage to Thierry Mugler on the day he died – 23rd January 2022. Melanie has long been an admirer of Mugler and she was inspired to draw his infamous “Butterfly Dress”.

The second piece shortlisted for the 7th awards was a minimal profile portrait of Tilda Swinton, which she entered in response to the ‘Celebrity’ category. In Melanie’s traditional linear charcoal style with expressive acrylic brush marks.
